General Labour and Helper Jobs in Saudi Arabia (2026): Monthly vs Hourly Pay, Free Accommodation, FAT and How to Stay Safe

Helper and general labourer jobs are the easiest way into Saudi Arabia’s construction and oil and gas projects. See 2026 pay (9–12 SAR/hr or SAR 2,000/month), what FAT and room-to-room mean, the documents you need and live vacancies.
Quick answer: General labourer and helper jobs are some of the most common vacancies in Saudi Arabia in 2026. Contractors in Jubail, Jafurah, Ras Al Khair, Afif and Turaif hire helpers every day for construction, scaffolding, piping and shutdown work. Hourly rates in current WhatsApp ads are 9 to 12 SAR per hour, while monthly offers are around SAR 2,000 when free accommodation and food are included. You usually need a valid Iqama, Muqeem report, passport copy and medical fitness.

Hourly or monthly: which pay is better?
Hourly rental jobs (for example 10 to 12 SAR per hour) pay for every hour you work, including overtime, but you usually arrange your own accommodation unless FAT is provided. A 10-hour day for 26 days at 11 SAR per hour is about SAR 2,860 before deductions.
Monthly jobs such as SAR 2,000 with free accommodation and food look smaller, but you save rent, food and transport, which can cost SAR 600 to 1,000 per month in Jubail or Dammam. Compare the take-home amount after living costs, not just the headline number.
What FAT, room to room and Ajeer mean
FAT: food, accommodation and transport. "FAT by company" means the employer provides all three; "FAT by client" means the end client provides them on site.
Room to room: your paid hours start when the bus leaves the camp and stop when it drops you back, so travel time is paid.
Ajeer: the Ministry of Human Resources system that lets a worker legally work for another company on a temporary basis. Many rental helper jobs ask for Ajeer or online Chamber registration.
Documents you usually need
Valid Iqama (many employers want at least 3 months validity) and Absher or Muqeem report; passport copy and sometimes the original passport at interview; medical fitness report; insurance (some employers arrange it for you); Ajeer or Chamber for rental jobs; a simple CV with your trade, years of experience and phone number.
Check the payment schedule before you join
Labour ads often mention the payment cycle, for example "payment after timesheet 45 days" or "paid after 1 month and 25 days". This is common on rental contracts, but you should plan your money for the first two months. Ask how overtime and Friday work are paid.
How to move up from helper to a skilled trade
Many scaffolders, riggers and pipe fitters in Saudi Arabia started as helpers. Ask your supervisor for exposure to scaffolding or rigging, then complete a TUV scaffolding or rigging course; TUV scaffolders currently earn 14 to 16 SAR per hour and Rigger 3 roles 12 to 20 SAR per hour, well above helper rates.
Stay safe from fake labour offers
Saudi Job Seeker only shares job ads posted publicly in WhatsApp groups. We do not recruit. A real employer will not ask you for money for a job, visa or transfer. Be careful with offers that promise very high salaries for simple work, or that ask you to send your Iqama to unknown numbers. If something feels wrong, stop and report it.
