Heavy Driver, Bus Driver and Equipment Operator Jobs in Saudi Arabia (2026): Heavy Licence, Aramco & TUV Cards and How to Get Hired

100 heavy drivers, bus drivers with transferable Iqama, Aramco crane, boom truck and backhoe operators: a 2026 guide to Saudi driver and operator jobs, licences, operator cards, pay and documents.
Quick answer: Heavy driver, bus driver and equipment operator jobs are some of the fastest-hiring roles in Saudi Arabia in 2026. On 29 September 2026 alone, WhatsApp ads asked for 100 heavy drivers, 5 bus drivers with 5+ years Saudi experience, an Aramco-certified crane operator in Jafurah, boom truck and backhoe loader operators in Jeddah and Yanbu, TUV scissor lift operators in Riyadh and heli-bobcat operators in Nariya. The key requirements are a valid Saudi heavy driving licence, a valid Iqama and, for oil and gas sites, an Aramco or TUV operator card.
This guide explains which licence and cards you need, what employers pay, and how to get hired quickly.
Which driver and operator jobs are hiring now?
Heavy Driver – 100 Nos: valid Iqama and heavy licence, monthly payment, FAT by company.
Heavy Driver (Bus Driver) – 5 Nos, Jubail: 5+ years Saudi experience, transferable Iqama.
Crane Operator, Jafurah: Aramco certified, Chamber must.
Boom Truck Operator (XCMG SQS350-5), Jeddah & Yanbu: Aramco approved.
Backhoe Loader Operator (426 4WD), Jeddah & Yanbu: Aramco approved.

Licence types: light vs heavy
Saudi Arabia issues different licence categories. For these jobs, the important split is:
Private / light licence – cars, pickups (Hilux) and small vans. Needed for house driver, pickup driver and small coaster jobs.
Heavy licence – trucks, trailers, tankers and full-size buses. Needed for "Heavy Driver", "Bus Driver" and "Water Tanker" posts.
Equipment operator cards – for cranes, boom trucks, loaders, forklifts, scissor lifts and bobcats, oil and gas clients ask for a third-party operator card (commonly TUV) and, on Aramco sites, an Aramco operator certification.
If you only hold a home-country licence, check the current Saudi licence conversion rules with the Traffic Department (Muroor) before applying. Most ads say "valid Saudi licence".
What does "Aramco certified operator" mean?
For cranes, boom trucks, side booms and heavy equipment working on Saudi Aramco sites, the operator usually needs an Aramco-recognised operator certification for that equipment type and capacity. Ads often mention the tonnage (for example 60 ton side boom or 80 ton crane), and your card should match or exceed it. Many contractors also ask for H2S and first aid training for field locations like Jafurah, Khursaniyah and Marjan.
How much do drivers and operators earn?
Pay depends heavily on the vehicle, the client and whether FAT (food, accommodation, transport) is included.
Heavy drivers on general projects are often paid monthly; ads today said "Payment: monthly, FAT: company".
Bus drivers with long Saudi experience and transferable Iqama are usually offered monthly salaries with sponsorship transfer.
Aramco-certified crane operators earn the highest rates in this group. In September 2026 we saw ads for 80 ton crane operators at up to 75 SAR per hour.
Boom truck, loader and lift operators are usually "rate after interview".
Always confirm the rate, overtime, payment cycle and FAT in writing before you travel to site.
Documents you will be asked for
Valid Iqama (some jobs need a transferable Iqama), Saudi driving licence (heavy category for trucks and buses), operator card (TUV / Aramco) for equipment, passport copy, medical fitness and insurance, experience letters (especially "5+ years Saudi experience" for bus drivers), and Chamber / Ajeer for rental (manpower supply) jobs.
5 tips to get hired faster
1. Put your licence and card in the first line of your CV. Example: "Heavy Driver – Saudi Heavy Licence – 7 Years KSA – Transferable Iqama".
2. Send one clean PDF. Many ads say "documents in one PDF". Combine Iqama, licence, card and CV.
3. Follow the ad's instructions. If it says "WhatsApp only, don't call", do not call.
4. Keep your Absher record clean. Traffic violations can appear during checks for driver jobs.
5. Mention route and vehicle experience. Buses, tankers, low-beds and desert routes all count.
Beware of fake driver jobs
Driver jobs attract many fake ads. Never pay a fee to get a job or a visa. Legitimate contractors do not ask for money to "reserve" a place. Visit the office if a location is given and verify the company name.
Frequently asked questions
Can I work as a heavy driver with a light licence?
No. Trucks, tankers and full-size buses require the heavy category.
Do I need an Aramco card to drive a bus on an Aramco project?
Some projects require driver safety training or site-specific passes. Equipment operators almost always need an operator card; drivers should check the specific project.
What does "Iqama transferable" mean in a driver ad?
The employer wants to transfer your sponsorship to their company, so you must be free to transfer under current rules.
