Instrumentation and electrical (E&I) work is one of the busiest hiring areas in Saudi Arabia right now. On 23 and 24 September 2026 alone, contractors in Jubail, Jafurah, Turaif, Yanbu, Qatif and Fadhili posted openings for loop check technicians, instrument installers, E&I technicians, tube fitters, tray fitters, electricians, E&I QC and Instrument QCI inspectors. This guide collects the real rates from those posts, explains what each job actually involves, and shows you how to get picked for the interview.
Quick answer: how much do E&I jobs pay in Saudi Arabia in September 2026?
Based on job ads published on 23 and 24 September 2026, typical hourly rates are: Loop Check Technician 32 SAR, Instrument Installer 28 SAR, Millwright 24 SAR, E&I QC 40 SAR, E&I Technician 15 to 16 SAR, Tube Fitter 15 SAR, Electrician 14 SAR and Tray Fitter 14 SAR. What does that mean per month?
Most shutdown and project jobs in the Eastern Province run about 10 hours a day, 26 days a month, which is roughly 260 paid hours. On that basis a loop check technician at 32 SAR earns about 8,320 SAR a month, an instrument installer at 28 SAR about 7,280 SAR, a millwright at 24 SAR about 6,240 SAR, an E&I technician at 16 SAR about 4,160 SAR and an electrician at 14 SAR about 3,640 SAR. An E&I QC at 40 SAR can reach around 10,400 SAR. Your real total depends on overtime, rest days and whether food, accommodation and transport (FAT) are provided by the company. Always confirm the hours and the payment cycle before you mobilise: one Jafurah post this week says salary is paid within 2 months and 20 days of the timesheet.
What each E&I job actually involves
A Loop Check Technician tests every instrument loop from the field device to the control room, checking signals, ranges and tags before commissioning. It pays the most among technicians because mistakes delay start-up. You should be comfortable with loop drawings, P&IDs, HART communicators and multimeters.
An Instrument Installer mounts transmitters, gauges and valves, runs impulse tubing and supports, and works closely with tube fitters. A Tube Fitter bends, cuts and connects stainless steel tubing and compression fittings, and must pass a pressure or leak test.
An E&I Technician covers general electrical and instrument installation and termination. Electricians and Tray Fitters install cable trays, pull cables and terminate panels. Building electricians focus on lighting, telecom and fire alarm systems inside buildings.
E&I QC and Instrument QCI inspectors check that the installation meets the project specification and the client standard, sign inspection reports and witness tests. On Saudi Aramco projects this usually means Aramco approval plus a passed CBT (computer-based test).
Where the E&I jobs are this week
Turaif in the Northern Region has large short-term demand for loop check, instrument and millwright crews on a mining and processing project. Jafurah, the big unconventional gas field in the Eastern Province, is hiring electricians, tray fitters, tube fitters and E&I technicians on long-term contracts. Yanbu on the Red Sea coast wants E&I QC, instrument and electrical technicians. Qatif and Nariya want Aramco-approved Instrument QCI inspectors and E&I QCS supervisors, and Jubail keeps hiring QC staff and fitters every day. Documents you will be asked for
Almost every E&I post this week lists the same set: valid Iqama, Muqeem print, original passport, passport copy, medical or body fitness report, insurance and a chamber-attested letter or CR. Some add an Absher update copy, a Muqeem valid for at least three months, or a vendor code for Aramco sites. Keep scans of all of these in one PDF on your phone so you can send them within minutes, because many contractors interview the same or next day.
How to get shortlisted faster
Put the exact job title from the post in your first message, for example "Loop Check Technician, Turaif". State your current city, Iqama status and how soon you can join. Mention the systems you have worked on (DCS, PLC, F&G, ESD) and the clients you have worked for (Aramco, SABIC, Ma'aden). Keep your CV to one or two pages in English. If the post says "WhatsApp only", do not call. Follow up once, politely, after one or two working days.
Red flags to watch for
A real contractor will not ask you to pay for a visa, a test or a "joining fee". Be careful with posts that give no company name, no office location and no project. Our site only republishes ads from public WhatsApp groups, so always verify the employer yourself and never pay to apply.
