Safety Officer Jobs in Saudi Arabia, September 2026: Aramco Approved, SABIC Approved or Non-Aramco? Where to Apply and What You Need

Safety officer and HSE jobs posted in Saudi Arabia on 24 and 25 September 2026: Aramco approved roles in Khurais, Shuqaiq and Shaybah, SABIC approved roles in Yanbu, non-Aramco openings, required experience, documents and interview tips.

Safety officers are among the most requested staff on Saudi industrial sites, and the job posts of 24 and 25 September 2026 prove it again. We published safety officer and HSE openings in Khurais, Shuqaiq, Shaybah and Yanbu this week, plus supporting roles such as WPR, hole watch, fire watch and standby man. The first question every candidate asks is the same: which approval do I need? This guide compares Aramco approved, SABIC approved and non-Aramco safety jobs and explains how to choose.

Quick answer: which safety officer jobs are open in Saudi Arabia right now?

Aramco approved safety officers are wanted in Khurais (six months) and in Shuqaiq and Shaybah (long term), with at least five years of experience and food, accommodation and transport provided. SABIC approved safety officers, WPR, hole watch and fire watch are wanted in Yanbu. Earlier in the week, non-Aramco safety officers were wanted in Yanbu and Jubail. Full contacts are on the Wathiq Careers jobs page.

Aramco approved safety officer

An Aramco approved safety officer has been approved to supervise safety on Saudi Aramco projects. This week the Aramco approved posts asked for a minimum of five years of experience, pipeline and cathodic protection project experience, and the ability to work in remote desert areas such as Shaybah in the Empty Quarter. Documents requested include Iqama with three months validity, passport copy, Ajeer, Muqeem, updated CV, chamber attestation, vendor code and medical.

SABIC approved safety officer

SABIC sites in Jubail and Yanbu often require their own approval for safety staff, WPR, hole watch and fire watch. The Yanbu requirement posted on 24 September lists SABIC approval for the safety officer, mechanical QA/QC, WPR, hole watch and fire watch positions. If you have worked on SABIC sites before, mention the affiliate and plant by name in your CV and message.

Non-Aramco safety officer

Non-Aramco safety officer jobs are the entry point for many HSE professionals. They are common on building construction, Maaden, private plants and contractor yards. They still expect a recognised safety qualification, site experience and valid documents, but they do not need a client approval card. They are a good way to build Saudi experience while your Aramco or SABIC approval is in process.

Qualifications that help in any safety job

Recruiters in Saudi Arabia commonly ask about NEBOSH IGC or an equivalent diploma, OSHA training, first aid, H2S awareness, confined space and work at height training. For remote pipeline roles, knowledge of permit to work systems, toolbox talks and emergency response planning is essential. Put your certificates, their numbers and expiry dates on the first page of your CV.

Supporting HSE roles: WPR, hole watch, fire watch and standby man

Not ready for a safety officer post? Work permit receiver (WPR), hole watch, fire watch and standby man roles are open this week in Yanbu and across the non-Aramco manpower requirement that covers Riyadh, Al Kharj, Qassim, Hail, Qurayyah, Shaybah and Shuqaiq, where 100 standby men are needed. These roles build the site experience that safety officer employers look for.

Interview tips for safety officer roles

Be ready to explain a permit to work you issued or checked, a near miss you reported and how you ran a toolbox talk. Know the hierarchy of controls and the basic steps of a job safety analysis. For remote sites, show that you understand heat stress, driving safety and emergency evacuation. Short, specific answers from your own projects impress more than textbook definitions.
